What Size Do Murphy Beds Come In?

If you are looking for an excellent space-saving solution for your home, Murphy beds are ideal. These beds are disguised as a cabinet, and then when you open the cabinet up, you can pull the bed out. You also get added storage space as well, which is a big bonus. A storage and a bed in one; the perfect situation for any home that is a bit on the small side. Murphy beds are also incredibly popular in spare bedrooms because of their versatility. You could use the room as an office on a day to day basis, for example, and then the bed can be pulled down whenever you have company. It is a win-win situation. However, one question that we often get asked is what size Murphy beds come in? Below, we will take you through the different sizes that are available so that you can get a better understanding of your options.

There are a number of different bed sizes for you to choose from if you want to purchase a Murphy bed. This includes a Twin, Twin XL, Full or Double, Queen, or King size bed. We will take you through each one so you can understand the exact dimensions when you are purchasing. Firstly, there is the twin size mattress. This bed will be between 82 and 87 inches in height, between 43 and 46 inches in width, and between 18 and 21 inches in depth. The projection is somewhere between 80 and 82 inches.

Next on the list is the Twin XL size bed. The height of this bed will be somewhere between 87 and 89 inches. The width just like the former size is between 43 and 46 inches. The depth is also the same, i.e. between 18 and 21 inches. Finally, the projection is somewhere between 85 and 87 inches. You should be able to use these dimensions to understand whether or not the Murphy Twin XL is right for you.

So, what about the Double Murphy bed? This is also known as the Full bed, so don’t be confused if you see it written in this manner. This bed is between 82 and 87 inches in terms of height. The width is quite a bit bigger than the two beds we have just discussed, as it will measure in between 57 and 61 inches. The depth is between 18 and 21 inches. Finally, the projection is somewhere between 80 and 82 inches.

If you want to go bigger than the beds that we have mentioned so far, you may be interested in choosing the Queen Murphy Bed. This bed is between 87 and 89 inches in height. The width will then be between 64 and 68 inches. Next, the depth of the bed is somewhere between 18 and 21 inches. Finally, in terms of projection, this is also a bit bigger, with the measurement somewhere between 85 and 87 inches.

Finally, the biggest bed of them all is the Murphy King Size Bed, so if you want to make sure that your bed is as big as possible, this is the right choice for you. The only measurement that is consistent when it comes to all of the beds is the depth. Again, this is between 18 and 21 inches. However, all of the other measurements are bigger, so you will need to measure carefully and make sure that you have enough space.

The height of the Murphy King Size Bed is between 89 and 92 inches. The width is between 84 and 86 inches. Finally, the projection will be between 85 and 87 inches. A lot of people are shocked to discover that they can get so much luxurious comfort and space from a bed that comes out of a cabinet, yet you’d be surprised! There are then other beds that you can select from if you’re shopping the Murphy range, so do keep this in mind.

To conclude, there are plenty of different sizes available if you are looking to purchase a Murphy bed. A lot of people assume that these beds are only available in small sizes because of their space-saving design. However, this is not the case. You have plenty of different sizes to choose from, so you can select the right bed for your specific needs. It is always advisable to make sure you measure the space first, though, as the last thing you want to do is order a piece of furniture only to discover that it does not fit.
